Bonjour guys!..It’s been quite some time since I penned down my thoughts and this time I’m putting down some factual information about the term Digital Marketing. It is a concept that captivated me and has been around for quite a while. What exactly is Digital Marketing and why it is doing the rounds in the corporate world and in almost all the major B-schools?
Well, in layman’s terms it is a marketing process that takes place majorly through digital media and this digital media provides a platform for buyers and sellers to carry on with their trading actions. By digital media I mean email, RSS, Voice Broadcast, Fax broadcast, Blogging, podcasting, video streams, wireless text messaging, and instant messaging. At its heart, it is centered around internet which has become both a communication vehicle and a very powerful marketing medium. Internet can be used both to ‘push’ a message to someone like email or ‘pull’ content serving a banner ad. So digital marketing can be thought as a combination of PULL and PUSH strategies to execute marketing campaign.
Now if we talk about digital marketing from a digital marketer’s point of view then, digital marketing is the integration of IT and creativity that is used to create web strategies or digital strategies that involves SEO, SEM, PPC, SMM and various other tools which enables the marketer to advertise and sell its goods and services to its prospective buyers.

E- Marketing is the most upcoming thing in the industry. The number of internet users is rising at an increasing rate. The world is shrinking with globalization and more and more consumers prefer online shopping or prefer online information as everything is widely available on internet. it’s the age of cell phones, pc’s and tablets.
Digital marketing is a new massive opportunity. Customers want to be acquainted with what’s happening on the web and a digital marketer helps them to do that. Broadband internet, Wifi and phone web access are also spurring growth worldwide.
As a marketer, I’m very excited about the future and what digital marketing looks like in the years ahead. If you haven’t started yet, you have to build a database of potential customers and find out how they wish to be reached.
